South-to-North Water Diversion Project

On November 18, 2005, Beijing Hanjian Heshan Pipeline Co., Ltd. successfully won the bid for Lot 1 of PCCP manufacturing for the Beijing section of the Central Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. This lot involved a total pipeline length of 51 kilometers and a contract value of 556 million yuan, making it the PCCP manufacturing project with the largest single contract value in China at that time.

As this project was the first in China to produce and use DN4000 PCCP pipes, there were many unknown factors and technical challenges in manufacturing, anti-corrosion, transportation, and installation, making the project highly challenging. Giving full play to its own advantages and cooperating closely with relevant units, Hanjian Heshan successfully resolved numerous technical difficulties through the test section of the South-to-North Water Diversion pipeline, including the bell and spigot sealing system, external anti-corrosion materials and construction techniques, cathodic protection方案, and capacity testing and improvement of domestic equipment. This provided scientifically significant experimental results that guided the full-scale construction of the South-to-North Water Diversion PCCP pipeline project.

The successful development and application of DN4000 PCCP pipes marked a historic leap forward for China's concrete pipe industry. It signified that China's manufacturing technology for concrete pipes had reached international advanced levels.
